Doula Care

A doula provides skilled physical, emotional, & informational support through pregnancy, birth, baby care, breastfeeding & the transition to parenthood. As a birth doula I bring the knowledge, heart, and hands of a birth professional and seasoned mother who has seen pregnancy and birth unfold in countless ways, at the hospital and at home, through natural childbirth or cesarean birth, over several long days and nights or a few intense hours.

I have served new families in roles that include childbirth educator, doula, and maternity nurse over the past 18 years. I am a Certified Birthing From Within Mentor and Doula, have a Masters of Science in Parent-Child Nursing, and trained as a midwife. I am the proud mother of two beautiful boys ~ Galen, born in December, 2001, and Zekiah, January 2004.

I will begin offering birth doula care in the Cowichan Valley in 2010. I am happy to refer you to excellent doulas in the area for care in 2009.
