Welcome to Island Mother, offering Birthing From Within prenatal classes, Birthing Again & VBAC workshops, Birth Story Circles, and Mama Renew Groups on Vancouver Island in the Cowichan Valley and Victoria. As you journey through the unknown of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood our classes support you in embracing the whole of your experience, finding trust within yourself and each other.

Island mother is the sister business of Dancing Star Birth and Mama Renew, both based in the Vancouver area. We are committed to making choices that our healthy for our children and the earth. Read more about our eco-choices

We take great pride in our strong reputation, relationships with clients past and present, and our community of clients. We serve as an ongoing resource for our prenatal clients through email and phone support, monthly newsletters, and moms' groups.

Sarah Juliusson

Over 1000 new parents have enjoyed Sarah's informative & transformative Birthing From Within prenatal classes and hundreds of new and seasoned mothers have benefitted from her Mothers Unfolding & Mama Renew groups.

Sarah has served in roles that include Childbirth Educator, Doula, and Maternity Nurse for 17 years, and is the mother of two boys. She is a Certified Birthing From Within Mentor & serves as an Advisor for new teachers around the world. She has a Masters in Parent-Child Nursing, trained as a midwife, and is a certified birth doula (DONA). Her teaching practice is focused on Vancouver Island, where she moved with her family in the summer of 2008. She is also the co-owner/founder of Dancing Star Birth & Mama Renew, based in Vancouver, BC.
